Feedback Requested for Chatswood West Proposals

Community input and feedback is currently sought for plans and proposals in the Chatswood West area.
Willoughby City Council would like to prepare two new Landscape Improvements Plans for Hotham Street Reserve and Kingsford Smith Park, Chatswood West. Comments and suggestions from the local community will be used to assist with the preparation of plans for these areas.
“Council is keen to hear what our community has to say. We’d like to know what you like and don’t like about these parks, what improvements you would like to see or what facilities would encourage you to use the parks more often,” said Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly.
“We value input from our community to improve our open spaces and we are particularly interested in hearing from residents who live near these parks, or those that are frequent users of these areas,” he said.
Information about the parks can be found on council’s website. Input must be received via post or email by Monday 25 January 2010.
Willoughby City Council has also prepared a concept plan proposing upgrades and extensions to the playground at O H Reid Memorial Park, Chatswood West and feedback from the community is now sought, particularly from residents living near the park.
The changes to the playground aim to provide a diversity of physical, explorative, interactive and imaginative play opportunities for children. Some of the suggested upgrades include a dual slide, rope climbing net, a three berth timber swing, Fibonacci balance beam and distorting mirrors.
Copies of the plan are available for viewing at the Chatswood Tennis Club, 120a Fullers Rd, West Chatswood, at the council administration offices, Level 4, 31 Victor Street, Chatswood, or can be downloaded from council’s website. Comments will be received until 5pm, Friday 29 January 2010.
