The Willoughby Symphony presents Western Voyage, a musical journey featuring the sounds of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, 8pm, Saturday 21 February, Verbruggen Hall, Conservatorium of Music, Macquarie Street, Sydney and 3pm, Sunday 22 February, Riverside Theatre, Corner Church and Market Streets, Parramatta.

Audiences will be mesmerised by the delightful sounds of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra when Chief Conductor, Dr. Nicholas Milton leads the orchestra in a passionate embrace of inspirational music.

The musical journey will begin with Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 featuring the stunning pianist Ambre Hammond, who will captivate audiences with her immaculate skill and precision, followed by Willoughby Symphony’s emulation of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4, a celebration of Symphonic music, exploring intense Russian melodies and epic imagery to create an atmosphere of enjoyment and excitement.

“Willoughby Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s finest community orchestra, having received many awards and accolades for their performances as well as their contribution to developing the orchestral community in Australia,” said Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly.

“Willoughby Symphony presents a series of concerts throughout 2009. Local residents and the wider community are invited to come along and enjoy the wonderful sound of the Willoughby Symphony,” he said.
