With construction well-underway the North Shore community are invited to take a tour of the Civic Place site and check out the progress of construction first hand 11am – 12 noon, Saturday 7 March.

The tour provides a great opportunity to meet the builders, ask questions and to be a part of the evolution of the site.

Attendees can see first hand what is being built from upper level of the builder’s hoardings which provides a bird’s eye view of the site.

The tour will reveal the areas of construction currently underway including the innovative five million litre water storage tank, which will harvest stormwater from the Chatswood CBD streets for reuse in Civic Place and elsewhere in the CBD.

So far more than 100 000m3 of shale and sandstone has been removed from the site.  The excavation works are now complete and construction of the foundation slab and lower ground floor is well underway.

“Civic Place will become the arts and cultural hub of the entire northern Sydney region,” said Willoughby Mayor Pat Reilly.  “This tour, the first of many, provides a fantastic opportunity for the community to get involved in the project now and to be kept informed through the exciting construction progress,” he said.

Places are limited, phone 9777 1000 to reserve your place.

You can also keep up-to-date with the progress of the site as it happens via daily photographs at www.civicplace.com.au .

Civic Place will deliver a world-class concert hall, theatre, exhibition and rehearsal spaces and will feature a modern, spacious, well-resourced library as well as community and educational facilities, retail, restaurants and cafes and open space.
