Aspiring video makers, or those who simply want to learn more about home-based video production and editing, are invited to attend the Willoughby Short Film Festival hosted by the Sydney Video Makers Club and as part of this year’s Willoughby Spring Festival.
Throughout the day attendees will have the opportunity to join various demonstrations and learn about the art of video technology including, video editing, lighting sound capture and special effects.
Film buffs who love a good short film will have the chance to view hourly screenings of winning short film videos from past festival events throughout the day and for those who want to learn more about the technical side of things and resurrect beloved films and tapes, there will be an old film conversion demonstration to show people how to bring back their screen favourites.
The festival will also feature a live demonstration on how to create special effects with a green screen backdrop to create life-like scenes such as hanging from a cliff or flying, all done in the safety and vicinity of your home living room.
“The film festival provides a fantastic opportunity for those who want to improve their video making skills or simply learn more about the work that goes into putting together an entertaining video,” said Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly.
“The festival will offer filming and editing techniques for a range of uses, whether you want to film an upcoming holiday, your family friends, a special occasion or just a short film,” he said.
