Dr. Mohamed Khadra will be the guest author at Willoughby City Library’s author talk, 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Thursday 26 February, Willoughby City Council, Level 6, 31 Victor Street, Chatswood.

Dr. Khadra will discuss his latest book, The Patient: One Man’s Journey Through the Australian Health-care System.

In a candid way, the book explores the life of Jonathon Brewster, 47, a successful man who has the world at his feet until he comes to face a shocking ordeal as he discovers he has bladder cancer.

As Jonathon embarks on the necessary milieu of specialist appointments, he comes into contact with urologist, Dr. Mohamed Khadra, who himself also suffers from the disease.

The parallels between them both become apparent, as the two men are confronted with their mortality, they develop a heightened awareness of, and gratitude for, the lives they have lived.

“Willoughby City Library’s author talks feature wonderful authors from a wide range of genres,” said Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly. “Dr. Mohamed Khadra presents readers with a wonderful book that is sure to be a fascinating read,” he said.
