As part of this year’s Willoughby Spring Festival, the IBAA Chatswood Buddhist Centre invites everyone to attend a two-day cultural workshop, 11am to 5pm, Saturday 5 September, 9.30am to 4pm, Sunday 6 September, IBBA Chatswood Buddhist Centre, 4 Spring Street, Chatswood.
Attendees can enjoy an array of activities and classes including an introduction to lion dancing, meditation, vegetarian cooking, Buddhist etiquette and practices and learn the art of calligraphy.
This is the first time the centre will open it’s doors to the general public and run a host of indoor activities with the help and coordination of YAD5, a Buddhist youth group.
“We warmly welcome you to a workshop of activities which aim to promote awareness, encourage cultural understanding and share the benefits of Buddhism with the community,” said William Sung, President, Buddha’s Light International Association YAD5.
The cultural workshops aim to promote awareness of Buddhist culture amongst community members as well as provide information on the foundations that make up Buddhism.
“The Spring Festival highlights a plethora of wonderful cultural activities locals and the wider community can enjoy and be a part of,” said Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly.
“The centre is also a wonderful spot for lunch on a regular basis,” he said.
