The Willoughby Chorale featuring members of the renowned Willoughby Symphony Choir will be presenting a special Mother’s Day concert under the baton of the choir’s musical director, Philip Chu.
The programme, which will showcase sacred music through the ages, includes O Salutaris Hostia by Giochino Rossini, Salve Regina by Francis Poulenc, Dostoino Yest by Pietor Tchaikovsky, Tantum Ergo by Charles-Marie Widor, and Trisagion, written by Australian composer and organist, Brett McKern in 2007.
Other composers featured include Anton Bruckner, Claudio Monteverdi and Tomas de Victoria.
The concert will be an eclectic and gentle journey through four centuries of sacred music and is sure to delight music lovers of all ages. So instead of buying a bunch of flowers this year, why not take your mother to a beautiful concert instead?
