A selection of works to be performed on the 2008 Willoughby Symphony Choir European Tour
Australian Choral works including works by Stephen Leek, Paul Stanhope and Dan Walker
Schubert - Mass No. 2, D. 167 in G
The Willoughby Symphony Choir presents an exciting program of choral pleasures before jetting off to Europe to perform in Germany and Austria. The first half of the program will offer a selection of Australian choral classics, which the Choir will be presenting on its European Tour. Composers Stephen Leek, Paul Stanhope and Dan Walker are amongst those to be represented.
The second half of the performance will see the Choir present Schubert’s magnificent Mass in G. Composed in less than a week, this work was written when Schubert was just 18. Simple yet tuneful, it is a heavenly work for chamber choir with soprano, tenor, and bass soloists.
Bon voyage to the Willoughby Symphony Choir!
