The distinctly Czech flavours of Smetana’s beloved Bartered Bride Overture open this feast of musical delights. We then welcome to the stage the inspirational Kristian Chong for what will be a dazzling performance of Tchaikowsky’s fabulous First Piano Concerto. From a virtuosic young performer to a visionary young composer, thrill to the skill of the 2008 WSOC/2MBS FM Young Composer of the Year – a World Premiere performance of an award-winning work! Finally, revel in the beautiful melodies and the effortless virtuosity of Dvorák’s ever popular Eighth Symphony and celebrate the amazing inspiration of your Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.
