Weekly Collections

Each rate-charged residential property in Willoughby has three different weekly waste collection services; the general waste garbage bin, the recycling bin, and the vegetation bin. Council will provide one of these bins for each property.

Missed collection

If your garbage or recycling has not been collected by the day after the usual collection day, call Council on 9777 1000 to report the missed service. You will need to give us your name, address and contact phone number, and tell us which service was missed and where the bin is. To ensure that your garbage and recyling are collected as scheduled, please make sure you follow the correct procedures for sorting waste, and that your bins are able to be accessed by the garbage truck.

Quarterly Clean Up

Properties are also provided with four clean up services a year and the option of using the on call clean up service. This is so residents can get rid of bulky household items that can’t be collected by the weekly garbage pick-up, and so Council can recycle as much as possible. This service is only available on the stated dates, not on an ‘on call’ basis.

The pick-ups are divided into four quarters:

Other waste disposal services

Council provides many opportunities for residents to safely dispose of other unwanted goods, such as old and broken electronics, fridges, batteries, mobile phones, cfl globes and household chemicals. Click on the links below for more information about these services.
