Volunteering

Council has many opportunities for people wishing to be involved in some form of community activity.

Some of the areas in which Council enlists the assistance of volunteers include:

Applying to be a Council Volunteer

If you wish to become a volunteer with Council please complete the on-line  Volunteer Application Form.

If you do apply to be a volunteer, the relevant Supervisor or Branch Manager will contact you to arrange an interview. If after the interview you and the Supervisor agree on an appropriate volunteer position you will be asked to read and sign a  Volunteer Agreement - 193 KB prior to taking up your voluntary duties.

Voluntary Employment with Child-Related Activities

If the voluntary position for which you are applying involves direct interaction with children or young people under the age of 18, you will be asked to complete a “Disclosure” that you are not a Prohibited Person under the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment Act) 1998 and to provide proof on identity.
