The Enviro-meter

Goal – To measure and record environmental change and evaluate the effectiveness of Council’s environmental programs.

Council is measuring changes in the chemical, physical and health risk exposure parameters of creeks, rivers and streams, as well as measuring changes in air quality and assessing noise pollution levels.

Site-specific water quality monitoring programs are obtaining benchmark data. Every spring and autumn Council collects water bugs as part of the macroinvertebrate study. This provides information on the water quality and health of Willoughby’s creeks and waterways.
