The Sustainability Street program is about residents getting together as a neighbourhood to create sustainable homes.
Through learning and working together residents can reduce their impact on the environment. While getting to know their neighbours participants will learn how to save both money and the environment.
Each participant's goal is to reduce waste to landfill by more than 50%, save $500 a year through energy conservation, and reduce water usage by up to 60 000 litres a year.
People interested in this program can approach Council as an individual or a group. Anyone can form a group.
Other suggested groups are friends, apartment blocks, or parents who meet through their children’s sporting groups.
To find out if there is a group near you or to talk about setting up a new group, check the list or phone 9777 7874 or email sustainability.st@willoughby.nsw.gov.au.
