Sustainability Street
What is Sustainability Street?
The Sustainability Street program is about residents getting together as a neighbourhood to create sustainable homes and work on community projects.
Through learning and working together, residents can reduce their impact on the environment. While getting to know their neighbours, participants will learn how to save money and improve the environment around them.
Residents from our Sustainability St groups save 187 tonnes of C02 each year, which is the equivalent of taking 41 cars off the road.
Groups
There are Sustainability St groups in Artarmon, Castlecrag, Northbridge and Willoughby. These local groups are working together on community projects, as well as doing things to save water and energy in their own homes.
Read about what groups in the area have been doing, and find out how you can join them by clicking on the links below.
People interested in this program can approach Council as an individual or a group. To set up a new group, all you need are friends or neighbours from five other interested households. To discuss setting up a new group, contact Council's Sustainability Street co-ordinator on 9777 7874 or email sustainability.st@willoughby.nsw.gov.au.
