Sportsgrounds

Council has created and maintains sporting grounds for the use of the public. Some of these facilities are shared with local State Schools.

Council provides the necessary grounds to play a wide range of sports, including; cricket, rugby union, rugby league, Aussie rules, soccer, touch football, netball, basketball, tennis, hockey, baseball, frisbee, and athletic sports. Tennis Courts in Willoughby has information for those wishing to play tennis.

Sporting organisations and clubs use Council grounds for training and competition. They are able to be hired either on a casual or seasonal basis.

To keep surfaces in a good and safe condition, the number of hours a week that grounds can be hired is restricted. Grounds may also be closed during or after wet weather. To find out whether a sportsground is open or closed after rain, check the Grounds Closures page or phone the Wet Weather Line on 9777 7631.
