SREPs

Regional Environmental Plans (REPs) cover issues like urban growth, commercial centres, recreation, and heritage and conservation. They are made under the EP&A 1979 and provide the framework for Willoughby Council’s detailed local planning.

Sydney Regional Environmental Plans (SREPs) are the REPs that apply to places in Sydney.

There are two SREPs that apply to areas in Willoughby.

SREP 5 - Chatswood Town Centre
This SREP allowed a number of major developments to be approved and constructed in Chatswood, including the Zenith Theatre and Convention Centre, and Westfield Shopping Centre.

SREP Sydney Harbour Catchment 2005
This SREP is a consolidation and replacement for several old SREPs, resulting in a clearer and more consistent planning framework that provides better environmental outcomes for Sydney.

Its aim is to establish a prosperous working harbour with a healthy and sustainable waterway environment and recreational access.

There is a complete list of all REPS.
