Project overview

Willoughby City Council’s Chatswood Civic Place Project will redevelop a 12,500 sqm site in the centre of the Chatswood CBD, in accordance with the Masterplan adopted by Council in 2004. The whole of the site owned by Willoughby City Council until recently housed the Council administration offices, Willoughby Civic Centre, Chatswood Central Library, an open air car park, retail space and open space.

The new Civic Place site will provide significant performing arts facilities to replace the former Civic Centre, including a 1000 seat concert hall, 500 seat theatre, exhibition hall, rehearsal spaces, visual arts space and 5000 sqm library, replacing the former 1700 sqm library.
