Northbridge Baths Aquatic & Fitness Centre

The Northbridge Baths swimming pool is tidal baths set within the stunning Sydney Harbour foreshore, boasting a sandy beach surrounded by native bushland. The Northbridge Baths, set in a relaxing location, have been popular with residents and visitors for many years.

As well as providing a safe, quiet and stunning location to cool off in the warmer months, swimming is a great form of exercise. There are magnificent views out over Middle Harbour from the elevated boardwalk along the perimeter of the baths.

Summer season

The 2009 Summer season will run until April 2010.

Facilities and programs

The Northbridge Baths are equipped with a cafe, BBQ, picnic area, change rooms, toilet facilities, hot showers and parking. The baths also offer facilities such as kayak hire, lifeguard training, school holiday programs and fitness programs.

New swimmers are always welcome at the club, which runs squad training sessions, swimming carnivals and learn to swim and swim correction classes.

The Baths are used by school groups for practice and swimming carnivals. They are also good for family outings and private swimming practice. The Northbridge Swimming Club meets on Saturday mornings during the summer. Ask about the swimming club at the baths.

The Baths and surrounding grounds are for use by all members of the public, and as such cannot be booked.

Water Quality

Swimmers are advised to use their own discretion before entering the baths, and to visually inspect the water before swimming. Do not swim if the water is discoloured, smells unusual, or has significant amounts of rubbish or plant litter.

Closure of Baths due to rainfall

If for 3 consecutive days there is between 10-20mm of rain, the baths will be closed during the rain and then for one day after the rain has ceased.

If for 3 consecutive days there is more than 20mm of rain, the baths will be closed during the rain and then for two days after the rain has ceased.

Getting there

Follow the sign-posted route from Eastern Valley Way to the end of Widgiewa Road in Northbridge. There is plenty of free parking in this road.

State Transit bus routes 202 and 208 will drop you off a short walk away.
