Internet Access at Chatswood Library
Internet-ready computers: are available at no charge for 30 minute sessions for research and for finding general information. There is a charge of 20c per b&w and $1 for each colour A4 sheet for printing. USBs may not be used on these computers.
Word Processing: One computer (not connected to the Internet) is available at no charge for 60 minute sessions. Printing charges as above apply. This computer has the following programs: Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003 and PowerPoint 2003. USBs may be used on this computer - ask staff at the Information Desk for an extension cable if you need it.
Email: One computer is available for emailing at the cost of $1.50 per 30 minute session. See the staff at the Information Desk to make a booking for you. Printing charges as for the Internet and Word Processing computers apply.
Bookings must be made for all computer sessions in the Library.
You may make your own bookings for an internet computer or the word processor in the Library using the bookings computer, ask staff at the Information Desk or phone the Library on 9777 7900.
Email computer sessions may only be made by the Library staff at the Information Desk because the $1.50 per session charge must be paid at the time of booking.
Bookings may be made a maximum of one week in advance.
Wireless Internet Access
Wireless Internet is available without charge at Chatswood Library to members of any Shorelink Library. You need a wirelesss capable computer, notebook or PDA which has it's own power source. Passwords are available at the Information Desk. Please show your Shorelink Library membership card to obtain a password. Each password gives the user 4 hours access to the wireless network.
Internet Training
People who wish to learn to use the Internet may enrol at the free introductory Tutorials for Absolute Beginners. These classes are offered by members of the Library staff and are delivered in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. A maximum of two students attend each session.
Internet Tutorials for Absolute Beginners are held at the following times:
Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:00am (in School Terms only)
Tuesdays 2:00pm - 3:00pm (in School Terms only)
and
Friday 2:00pm - 3:00pm (in School Terms only)
