Upcoming traffic and pedestrian changes as part of Sydney Metro - Nelson St Bridge and Frank Channon Walk, Chatswood

The following traffic and pedestrian changes will occur in Chatswood from November 2018 as part of Sydney Metro City and Southwest.

  • Nelson Street Bridge Closure
    From 8am on Saturday 3 November 2018, Nelson Street bridge at Chatswood will permanently close to traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. The closure and removal of the bridge is required to allow for the operation of the T1 North Shore line alongside the future Sydney Metro rail line. Once the bridge is closed, work will start to install concrete piles on either side of the bridge in preparation for its removal in early 2019. View further information.
  • Frank Channon Walk Temporary Closure
    Frank Channon Walk will be closed between Nelson Street and Albert Avenue from 8am Saturday 3 November 2018 until late 2019. Signed detour routes will be in place while the path is closed. View further information, including a detour map.
