Playgrounds, outdoor gyms and Northbridge Baths to open
Posted: Thursday, 14 May 2020
From tomorrow (Friday, 15 May), you're welcome to use playground equipment and outdoor gyms. As Northbridge Baths is considered an outdoor pool, we're reopening from tomorrow morning as well.
We ask that you practice social distancing when you're visiting these areas and if they're crowded, please return at another time.
We'll provide a weekly clean for playgrounds and gym equipment and ask that you take your own personal hygiene precautions such as using sanitiser, wipes and handwashing.
Our libraries, community centres, Council's customer service centre, Willoughby Leisure Centre and other facilities remain closed, in line with state government advice.
Northbridge Baths will be open, but with restrictions to keep our community safe. Our staff will visit twice each day on weekdays and once a day on weekends to ensure it's not overcrowded. The grassed area in front of the water and hard surfaces are treated like a park so the same rules apply: up to 10 people in total. This could be to exercise or a family picnic. The number of people in the water is limited to 10, with one swimmer in each of the eight lanes and two swimmers in the remaining body of water. The amenities block will remain closed. We'll review regularly and decide whether to keep the facility open. We thank you for your patience and cooperation.
