Help & Service

Level 4, 31 Victor Street
Chatswood, NSW, 2067

Phone: (02) 9777 1000

Open between 8.30am and 5pm weekdays

Council’s Help & Service Centre acts as your one-stop-shop for any questions or difficulties you may have regarding Council. The Customer Service staff aim to be able to provide answers instantly rather than having you chase up other staff members. However, when they cannot answer your question themselves they will be able to put you in touch with the most appropriate person.

The Help & Service Centre is the place to go for information, to pay rates in person, and to lodge forms. Just some of the things you can do at the Centre are:

  • Make general information enquiries
  • Place a Request for Service
  • Obtain rate information and make enquiries
  • Lodge Development Applications & Construction Certificates
  • Deal with all planning and building issues
  • Lodge requests to access Council's development plans & building proposals
  • View development proposals on notification
  • Request building inspections
  • Apply for tree pruning and removal
  • Book vacation childcare
  • Find out about waste disposal
  • Purchase recycling bins and worm farms
  • Register dogs and cats
  • Apply for skip bins, cranes, work zones, hoarding, footpath crossing, footpath lease and road opening permits
  • Get resident parking permits
  • Make all payments.

You can also buy large maps showing the new suburb boundaries. These are available for $33 (this includes GST). You can download a map showing the new  Suburb Boundaries - 893 KB for free in order to locate a particular property.

Debit and credit card facilities (except AMEX and Diners Card) are available if you need to make a payment. Your requests are lodged and tracked on a database so Council can be certain of following up your problem.

If you would like to talk to a Planning Officer or Building Surveyor about any questions or plans you have to do with building, you can call between 1pm and 4.30pm weekdays. Or to talk about a specific application you have lodged, call between 8.30am and 10am weekdays. If these times aren’t convenient for you, an appointment can be arranged.
