Filming and Photography
The natural beauty of the Willoughby Council area, alongside the cityscape of Chatswood, provides a unique subject or backdrop for film makers and photographers.
Code of Conduct
Following the release of the Local Government Filming Protocol, Council has developed a Code of Conduct for Filming in Willoughby which establishes guidelines for film makers and photographers to follow when carrying out their activities. These guidelines seek to balance the needs of the filmmakers with those of the residents whose amenity could be affected by a filming project.
These guidelines will also inform residents about what film makers can and can't do so that they are aware of their rights and what to expect if a commercial film shoot is approved in their area.
Seeking permission to film or photograph
Film makers and photographers wishing to work in Willoughby are encouraged to use the application form to seek Council approval.
The following document can be used as template to inform residents who may be affected by the filming.
Please see the fees and charges associated with filming in the area.
For more information, or if you have any queries, please contact Council's Film Contact Officer, Peter Synnott, 9777 1023.
