Grounds and Gardens

Willoughby City Council can offer advice and assistance with planting and propagation of appropriate plants for your school grounds or gardens. Learning and/or planting activities are organised with students in order to foster an appreciation of living things and to encourage children to care for garden areas.

  • Council offers each school a semi mature native tree or a tray of tube stock for Schools National Tree Day held on the last Friday of July each year (requests need to be made by April).
  • Free mulch is available for schools on request to be used on 'working bee' days.
  • Advice and assistance for school vegetable gardens given by Community Garden Staff.
  • Training in Bush Regeneration for a dedicated environment group (for schools with bushland remnants.)

For more information contact Council's Bushland Community on 9777 7942.
