Development Process

These pages provide a summary of the development application (DA) process at Willoughby City Council. Council wishes to inform residents and any other interested persons about the steps in the process and, particularly, how and when they can be involved in the DA process.

Extended notification period over the Christmas / New Year period

Letters notifying Neighbours of proposed developments (including modifications) will continue to be sent out during December and January, but the period allowed for reply will be extended.

The changes to notification periods will be as follows:

  • Any Development Applications or applications for Building Certificates (where unauthorised building work has occurred) lodged between 30 November 2009 and 8 January 2010 will remain on notification until 1 February, 2010.

All other processes associated with the assessment of Development Applications and Building Certificate Applications will continue as usual.

If you have any questions please contact the Council Officer handling your application.
