Council has many opportunities for people wishing to be involved in some form of community activity. Volunteers provide a wide range of valuable services in Willoughby's social, environmental and cultural well-being.
Some of the areas in which Council enlists the assistance of volunteers include:
Applying to be a Council Volunteer
If you wish to become a volunteer with Council, complete the Volunteer Application Form.
After applying, the relevant Supervisor will contact you to arrange an interview. If after the interview you and the Supervisor agree on an appropriate volunteer position you will be asked to read and sign a Volunteer Agreement prior to taking up your voluntary duties.
Voluntary Employment with Child-Related Activities
If the voluntary position for which you are applying involves direct interaction with children or young people under the age of 18, you will be required to have a Working with Children Check - Volunteer.
Duke of Edinburgh - opportunities for students
Council welcomes Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, and has a limited number of opportunities for students completing the Award including:
Limited after-school opportunities. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old to apply.
Would you like to be involved in exciting events within the Willoughby area? We often recruit volunteers to help out at one-off special events in a range of different roles. Previous events include Vivid Sydney at Chatswood, StreetFair, Children’s events, Senior’s Concert, Grandparents' Day celebrations, expos and many more.
