Willoughby Council and GoGet are working together to establish a car share program in the Willoughby area. There are currently stations set up in Chatswood and St Leonards with plans to extend the program in the future. Download the brochure:  GoGet CarShare - 685 KB.

Car sharing is an initiative where you sign up for 24/7 access to a car without the hassles and expense of owning a car or using traditional car hire. Car sharing is cheaper and puts less pressure on parking and traffic congestion than owning a car, and is a great way to help the environment.

The cars can be reserved online or over the phone, and can be collected or returned at any time of day.

Once booked, simply collect the car, drive and bring it back to the same spot.

You can rent self-service cars by the hour, day, week or month. The cars are parked in dedicated car share parking bays in the following locations:

• Broughton Road, Artarmon
• Thomas Street carpark, Chatswood
• Railway Street, Chatswood
• Archer Street Car Park, Chatswood 
• Herbert Street, St Leonards

The cars can be booked for a minimum of one hour with no limit after that.

By using GoGet, businesses and organisations can have all the benefits of a company car or fleet for a fraction of the cost, and it could be tax-deductible! Packages can be tailored to businesses, so phone 1300 769 389.

At the end of each month you will get an itemised account for exactly what you used. Usage charges are based on how long you have the car and how far you drive. Hourly rates range from $4.90 to $7.50 depending on your membership type.

Car share vehicles available in Willoughby are currently hatchbacks although station wagons and sedans are also available to members. All vehicles are automatic, air conditioned and covered by 24 hour roadside assistance.
