What is MOSAIC?

MOSAIC stands for Multicultural One-Stop Assistance Information Centre. The MOSAIC Multicultural Centre is open five days a week and runs a wide range of programs and events.

The team of trained volunteers at MOSAIC speak a number of languages to assist staff in helping the community. They can provide information on services and activities for people in their home language.

Activities are both educational and fun. MOSAIC staff and volunteers organise English classes for those who speak a different language at home and community groups gather at MOSAIC to meet, talk, eat and enjoy cultural activities. Cultural workshops are open to all residents.

MOSAIC also provides information on helpful services and can assist with referrals if required.

Our mission statement:

MOSAIC is a multicultural service that seeks to celebrate the city's diversity and is dedicated to empowering and meeting the needs of its ethnic communities, and facilitating their participation in decision-making.

This brochure is available in 10 community languages:  Arabic, Armenian, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Farsi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Russian. Referrals

To be referred to an appropriate service, ask the MOSAIC Co-ordinator. This will be kept confidential.

Language Assistance

If you need to speak to MOSAIC or Council in your home language call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450. You will need to ask an interpreter to contact Council on 9777 7952. This service is free of charge.

Volunteering At MOSAIC

MOSAIC cannot operate without volunteers, many of whom speak more than one language. Volunteers are trained to help people use the available services. If you would like to volunteer phone 9777 7952  or email mosaic@willoughby.nsw.gov.au.

Venue Hire

If you are looking for a place to hold a meeting, seminar or activity, MOSAIC has two classrooms and a function room available for hire. For more information or to book, phone the Centre Coordinator on 9777 7952.
