Long Day Care
Long Day Care centres provide education and care for children aged from 0-6 years of age in a stimulating and supportive environment. Council operates
Long Day Care centres are licensed through the Department of Education, under the Education and Care Services National Regulation, and participate in the National Quality Standards.
The Centre is open from 7.30am-6pm, Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year.
Willoughby City Council centres employ more staff than are required under the National Regulation. Each centre also has staff with a range of qualifications. These include Bachelor of Teaching/Education in Early Childhood, Diploma in Children's Services, and Certificate 3 in Children's Services. Educational programs are based on the National Curriculum - The Early Years learning framework and reflect key learning areas such as social and emotional development, language development, physical development, creativity, and intellectual development. There is a balance between indoor and outdoor play. Nutritional and varied meals are provided each day. School Readiness programs are implemented and parents are encouraged to participate in centre life as much as possible.
Fees may be reduced if families are eligible for the Child Care Benefit.
