Long Day Care
Long Day Care centres provide care and education for children aged from 0-6 years of age in a stimulating and supportive environment. Council operates two Long Day Care centres:
Long Day Care centres are licensed through the Department of Community Service, under the Children’s Services Regulation 2004, and participate in the Quality Improvement and Accreditation System.
The Centres are open from 7.30am-6pm, Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year.
Willoughby City Council centres employ more staff than are required under the Children's Services Regulation 2004. Each centre also has staff with a range of qualifications. These include Bachelor of Teaching/Education in Early Childhood, Diploma in Children's Services, and Certificate 3 in Children's Services. Educational programs reflect key learning areas such as social and emotional development, language development, physical development, creativity, and intellectual development. There is a balance between indoor and outdoor play. Nutritional and varied meals are provided each day. School Readiness programs are implemented and parents are encouraged to participate in centre life as much as possible.
Fees may be reduced if families are eligible for the Child Care Benefit.
