Citizenship
Becoming an Australian citizen gives you a number of rights such as voting and the ability to leave and re-enter Australia, but also comes with responsibilities such as obeying Australian laws and defending Australia if the need arises. There are eligibility requirements, an application process, an interview, and then the ceremony.
Citizenship Ceremonies
Willoughby City Council regularly hosts Citizenship in the Council Chambers. Each new Australian citizen participates in a personal ceremony and is presented with a certificate, a photograph of the ceremony, and a small memento of the occasion. Families and friends are invited to attend the ceremony.
The Council Chambers are fully accessible for wheelchairs and prams.
