Celebrate What's Great on Australia Day 2008
Willoughby's Australia Day celebrations for 2008 included a performance by the Willoughby Australia Day Children’s Choir and Willoughby City Band, Citizen of the Year Awards, Citizenship Ceremony and a sausage sizzle provided by Chatswood Rotary.
We welcomed new citizens in a citizenship ceremony and recognised the achievements of Willoughby citizens. Awards were presented to Willoughby residents in the following categories – Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Building Award and Services to Young People.
Jaslyn Hall joined Willoughby’s Australia Day Celebrations as our Australia Day Ambassador and presented the Australia Day Address.
Jaslyn is one of Australia’s most respected radio presenters, and an experienced music consultant. Australia Day is a public holiday celebrated all throughout Australia. It gives us the opportunity consider and appreciate what we love about Australia and Australians. For more information, visit the National Australia Day Council.
