John is a graduate of the Macquarie Graduate School of Management with extensive experience in management, ethics, law and technology. John has been a Willoughby resident for 27 years (since 1981). He has served as President of Chatswood Eastside Progress Association; Vice President of the Federation of Willoughby Progress Associations; a Community Representative on Willoughby Council’s Communication Working Party; Wider Community Representative on the Northbridge Plaza and Council Carpark Masterplan Reference Committee; and as Asbestos Awareness campaigner instrumental in developing Council’s asbestos policy.
In John’s words:- “I’m concerned that Council is both financially and environmentally sustainable; that the financial and environmental legacy we enjoy is passed on to the next generation enhanced by our work; that we have a safe community and clean environment for all to enjoy and grow; that our community deals with all with compassion and respect; that the vulnerable in our community are not damaged but helped; and that we have Open Government where promises to the community are kept and bureaucracy is kept to a minimum.”
John raises and trains Guide Dogs for Guide Dogs NSW ACT, he has been a certified scuba diver for over 30 years and holds a PADI professional Dive Master qualification, he is an active bush walker, photographer and when time allows, enjoys travel and snow skiing.
